Julie Halston, currently in rehearsal for Charles Busch’s new stage production, “Shanghai Moon,” and director/actress Donna Daley will read excerpts from their new book, “Monologues for Show-Offs,” at a special Book Signing event at the Drama Book Shop, 250 W. 40th St. (between Broadway and 8th Ave) on Thursday, May 22, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM.
The event will also feature readings by performer friends of theirs who will be in the audience, among them Charles Busch and the Shanghai Moon cast; comedians Rick Younger and Judy Gold; Mary Louise Burke, Christine Lavin; Jake Wilson of The Battery’s Down; actor David Pittu and lots of other folks in the business!
Following the readings, Halston and Daley will sign copies of the book for those in the audience. The book, published by Heinemann, sells for $14.95 and is available at the Drama Book Shop.
“Monologues for Show-Offs” includes 74 brand new audition monologues which have been written by Halston and Daley to assist professional actors in their auditions. The monologues were written for men and women of all ages as well as people of various ethnic backgrounds.
