You are cordially invited to cover singer/comedienne/actress Joan Crowe in her new show, entitled In The Key of Comedy, which will be performed
for three performances only on consecutive Thursdays – March 13, 20 and 27 -- at 7:30 PM at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues.
Joan will be backed by “a dream rhythm section” – renowned bass player and witty composer Jay Leonhart, her longtime collaborator Tedd Firth on piano, and percussionist Matt Wilson,
described by The New York Times as “easily one of the best drummers of his generation.” At the March 20th performance Joan will be joined by special guest Bob Dorough, a legendary
composer and piano player who will perform some of his own material.
In The Key of Comedy is a fun-filled show that pays tribute to the great Jesters of Jazz, the writers of our time who have written not just great jazz tunes but songs that also have a sense of humor.
The shows will feature classics by Cab Calloway, Fats Waller, Louis Jordan, Dave Frishberg, Bob Dorough and many more!
