52ND ANNUAL DRAMA DESK AWARDS TO BE HELD MAY 20
AT F.H. LAGUARDIA CONCERT HALL AT LINCOLN CENTER
Nominations To Be Announced on Thursday, April 26
The 52nd Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held on Sunday, May 20, in the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center, it was announced by Robert R. Blume, Executive Producer of the awards ceremony, and William Wolf, President of the Drama Desk, an organization of theater critics, writers and editors, that honors excellence in all areas of New York theatre, including Broadway, Off Broadway, Off Off Broadway and not-for-profit theater.
Nominations for the coveted Drama Desk Awards reflecting the 2006/2007 New York theater season will be announced on Thursday morning, April 26, at the New York Friars Club. The Drama Desk Awards Nominees Cocktail Reception will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Arte Café, 106 West 73rd Street, between Broadway and Columbus Avenues.
Sunday, April 22, matinee is the deadline for nominators to see shows for consideration this season.
Members of the Drama Desk nominating committee include Barbara Siegel, chairperson (TalkinBroadway.com, Theatermania.com), Gregory Bossler, (The Dramatist Magazine); Bernard Carragher (Catholic Transcript); Glenda Frank (Plays International and nytheatre-wire.com); Tony Phillips (New York Press); and Richard Ridge(Broadway Beat TV).
Robert R. Blume is Executive Producer of the 52nd Annual Drama Desk Awards. Lauren Class Schneider is Producer and Jeff Kalpak is Director. Associate Producers are Jacki Barlia Florin, Corine Dana Cohen, Margot Astrachan and Les Schecter who is also Director of Publicity and Promotions. Elias El-Hage is the General Manager.
