DRAMA DESK 50 TH ANNIVERSARY TELECAST TO BE STAR-STUDDED!

AWARDS SHOW WILL FEATURE MANY STARS AS PRESENTERS AND PERFORMANCES BY CAST MEMBERS OF
NOMINATED MUSICAL PRODUCTIONS

Awards Ceremony to be Televised by Public Television Stations Nationally, Including Thirteen/WNET New York

When Harvey Fierstein, the multi award-winning comic actor currently winning rave reviews in Fiddler on the Roof on Broadway, hoststhe 50 TH ANNUAL DRAMA DESK AWARDS on Sunday, May 22 at the LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center, he will be joined on-stage by some of the brightest luminaries of the current New York theatre season as award presenters and performers. Among the confirmed Award Presenters are: Alan Alda (Glengarry Glen Ross), Hank Azaria (Monty Python’s Spamalot), Christina Applegate (Sweet Charity), Delta Burke (Steel Magnolias), Sutton Foster (Little Women), Jeff Goldblum (The Pillowman), Robert Goulet(La Cage aux Folles), Ethan Hawke (Hurlyburly), Patti Lupone, David Hyde Pierce (Monty Python’s Spamalot), Rue McClanahan, Maureen McGovern (Little Women),Lynn Redgrave(The Constant Wife), Liev Schreiber (Glengarry Glen Ross), Tommy Tune,Kathleen Turner (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?) and the cast of The 25 th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

In addition, there will be performances by cast members from current nominated musicals, including the cast of Altar Boyz, nominee Victoria Clarke (The Light in the Piazza), nominee Sherie Renee Scott (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), and nominee Maureen McGovern (Little Women).
